Event Details
Table Mountain-Seven Ponds Traverse is a day hike in the Nothern Aberdares, with the major goal being acclimation and building resilience. This hike starts at Mikeu Shopping Center and takes a left turn past the Aberdares Forest gate to the base of Table Mountain. Here, you will cross a river and ascend a steep ascent to the leveled ground, where you have rock views ahead and a beautiful forest landscape behind.
The next stretch is gentler, leading to another river crossing, then the start of rocks and a short and boggy section. Past this bog, the next section is floral, especially after fresh rains. After a few more steps, the Table Mountain Summit welcomes you. The trail will then divert to the Magical Seven Ponds. The trail to the seven ponds is gentle and ideally flat. After chilling in the afternoon sun, we will descend using the Seven Ponds Trail for our journey back home.

The 12 Apostles Ultraverse is an immersive hike into the vast wilderness in the southern Aberdare Ranges. If you are familiar with Elephant Hill Hike or Mau Mau Peak, the 12 Apostles follow the same trail all the way to Mau Mau Peak and back to the last climb to the pinnacle of Elephant Hill, where it branches to the right as you head to Mount Kinangop. Close to the base of the far rear peak of Mount Kinangop, the trail diverts to the 12 Apostles, and the adventure continues. The Summit is a series of peaks.
