The 12 Apostles Reverse Ultraverse is an immersive and challenging in the southern Aberdare Ranges. If you are familiar with Mount Kinangop and Elephant Hill Hike, this hike follows the same trail to the last climb to the pinnacle of Mount Kinangop and heads towards Elephant Hill. You branc to the left just past the rear peak of Mount Kinangop towards the 12 Apostles.
This section to the base of the 12 Apostles has the richest and most beautiful remaining moorlands and is alive, getting you through rivers and valleys across the 2 km to the summit of the 12 Apostles. The Summit is a series of peaks. Getting to the summit is by climbing a vertical rock and another final hill to reach the Eye of the 12 Apostles (A hole under the summit of the 12 Apostles). The summit push is the steepest in the Aberdares and demands your energy and willpower to complete.
We finally return and divert to Elephant Hill before descending to South Kinangop Forest Station (Njabini Gate).
