Mount Kenya Burguret-Chogoria Route is a moderate and therapeutic hike along the rarest used route up Mount Kenya. This is one route that covers all the vegetation zones of the mountain, with towering bamboo trees as a notable feature of this trail. It also has a forest that is lively with the signs of elephants, as some of the biggest inhabitants of the lower region of the forest. This expedition takes you through this raw wilderness, and after Peak Lenana, you go down through the beautiful lakes of the Chogoria Route.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Gathiuru Forest Station, Hike 9km to Giant Bamboo Camp (2700m).
Day 2: Hike 10km to Highland Castle (3700m) & Camp.
Day 3: Hike 11km to Shipton’s Camp (4200m) & Camp.
Day 4: Summit Peak Lenana(4985m), and down to Mintos Camp for breakfast, before proceeding 10km down to Chogoria Road Head to meet our transfer vehicle back to Nairobi.
