Event Details
Our Shipton’s Base Camp Hike is a Mount Kenya Day Dash through the Sirimon Route. Day dashes might bring pressure to perform, but our revamped base camp hikes don’t judge you, so you don’t have to kill yourself pushing too hard. Whether you reach the base camp or hit Point Lenana within the turn-back time, you are sure you will come back as the best version of yourself.
The hike starts at Old Moses Camp with a short incline, and past the Likii North Junction, it diverts to the right past rivers Likii North and Ontulili to the start of Mackinder Valley, which marks the first phase of this ascent. You cross a third bridge at Mackinder Valley close to Shipton’s camp. Past the Shiptons Camp, we will climb steeply to Harris Tarn and a few meters up to Point Lenana.
