Ithangune Crater Overnight Camp sits in the highlands of Meru, Kenya. Hosting Mount Kenya’s Largest Lake, Lake Alice, Ithangune Crater hike is a getaway for explorers and hikers to whom mountain views mean something. This is a special hike that accommodates less experienced hikers, since our departures here, like the Ithangune Hill hike, are for expert hikers. This hike is a 12km climb of pure scenery of the main Mount Kenya peaks & the landscapes below, like Lake Rutundu, the Giant Billiard Table Mountain, and finally the aerial view of Lake Ithangune (popularly known as Lake Alice). Most importantly, the hike will also take you to Lake Rutundu, the fourth largest lake in Mount Kenya.
