The Ultimate Southern Nyandarua Traverse is an immersive hike into the vast wilderness between Murang’a and Nyandarua in the southern Nyandarua Ranges. If you have been wondering whether Murang’a has high peaks, come experience it in its true colors now. Elephant Hill and Mount Kinangop peaks are located in Murang’a County, while the Twelve Apostles are entirely in Murang’a County.
This hike starts at Gatare Forest and joins the Nyandarua Trails at the Bamboo Gate of the Elephant Hill Trail. From there, the trail follows the Point of Despair, The Tail, Elephant Hill, The Punisher, The 12 Apostles, Mount Kinangop, and down through the Mutarakwa Trail.
After this hike, honor yourself with at least 2 days of rest.
