Emerald, Nanyuki, & Two Tarns

  • Naro Moru River Lodge Met Station Bandas
  • Apr 5 (1 Day)
  • Duration: Apr 5 (1 Day)

Overview

Emerald, Nanyuki, & Two Tarns end of the left ridge of Teleki Valley, close to Midget Peak and Tyndall Glacier. They are just less explored sceneries at the Peak Circuit of Mount Kenya. If you have been to Mackider’s Camp, Emerald, Nanyuki, & Two Tarns are 2 km away.

The hike starts at Met Station at 3048m ASL and moves through a thicket region before you hit the Moorlands and the vertical bog towards Teleki Valley. This hike proceeds through the Teleki Valley to Mackinder’s Camp, up through the left ridge to Two Tarn, and extends 200m to Emerald Tarn.

This hike is a good acclimatization hike if you are eyeing attempting Point Lenana in a day through this route.
